EXCLUSIVE: £800k wasted on bridge plan

Black Cat Radio - in collaboration with the Hunts Post - has uncovered that hundreds of thousands of pounds have been spent on a bridge project that will no longer go ahead.
On Thursday's Full English Breakfast show we reported that Cllr Ryan Fuller, the leader of Huntingdonshire District Council, told the overview and scrutiny committee that "nearly a million pounds had been 'wasted'" on the defunct project.
Then on last Monday's show, we asked the Mayor of Cambridgeshire, James Palmer, about where the money had gone. He said: "I am not aware that one million pounds had been spent."
However, he issued guarantees that the money that was set aside for the scheme would be reinvested in the town.
Adding: "I want t make it clear that this money is going to be used for St Neots and that is why I want to speak to as many people as possible about it. There's been some suggestion that it could be used to re-open the Old Falcon pub, which is something we will consider."
